Sometimes people can struggle to feel important because they don’t understand that God has made each one of us unique, designed special to do certain good works…something he had planned even before we were born!

​Unfortunately, some people never discover this truth because they never become a follower of Jesus. God has made us for a purpose and when we choose to follow Jesus, God makes us new so that we can begin to do the good work he has for us, but we’ll never discover his purpose for us until we choose to obey him.

When we choose to follow Jesus, the Holy Spirit gives us special gifts to help others and especially other followers…we become one big family! We won’t have all the same gifts, but will each have a special role to support and encourage each other as we obey God by telling others about Jesus.

Family goal:
When we choose to follow Jesus, God gives us a special job…something special he has made for us to do. What good work could you do this week?

Weekly verse:
Ephesians 2:10, NLT – “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
Family activities:
• Colour the picture of this week’s verse. Why not try memorizing it together?
• Bake some thumb print cookies together to share as a family and some to share with others. Give your little ones a chance to deliver (serve) them.
• Make a puppet like Douglas did.

Prayer:
Thank you, God that I am very special to you and that you have a special purpose for me. In fact, you made me the way I am to do good work…which you planned long before I was born! Help me to always look for good things to do.
