Daily Devotional – Thursday, May 6, 2021“The LORD is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD.” (Lamentations 3:25-26, NLT)
Hope Chapel has been seeking God—seeking his direction, seeking his wisdom, seeking his provision. And he has been answering us. He has been revealing his plan—not with a full and complete blueprint, but little by little. And as he makes a way where there seems to be no way, we are discovering how ‘good’ it is to ‘wait quietly for his salvation.’ Sometimes the good comes in the form of calm assurance and the certainty that he’s got this. Sometimes the good comes in more tangible forms. This morning brought some of those for me! In the course of half an hour, I received a call from a dear friend encouraging me that she believes Hope Chapel is ‘on the right track.’ She does not mean these words lightly and I take great courage from them. Then I heard word that we have finally found a surveyor who is willing to do some needed work for the church within the month…work that we’ve been waiting on for literally months as we sat on someone else’s waitlist. But of course, then there’s also the price tag that comes with the work, which brings me to the email I received in that very same half hour from an individual wanting to make a donation to the church. What are we to take from all this? God’s good affirmation. We don’t know the future, but we know the One who does! We are in need of resources, but we know the One whose supply never runs out! We need direction, but we have placed our hope in the One who has promised to be ‘good’ to those who ‘wait quietly’ on him! ...and he is proving himself faithful. Thank you, Lord! ~ Pastor Jane
