Today’s Bible Bite: Exodus 2:15-3:1
Video Story:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oG0a9WFkgzU (Moses’ Life in Midia, from “Prince of Egypt”)

“Moses agreed to stay with the man, Reuel (Jethro), who gave his daughter Zipporah to Moses in marriage.” (Exodus 2:21)

When Moses had escaped Pharaoh by leaving Egypt, he came to the land of Midian. While he waited by a well, he noticed some daughters of Jethro who were trying to give their flocks water, but were having a hard time with some shepherds. Moses rescued the girls and watered their flocks; when their father heard their story, he told them to bring him back for a meal.

But Moses didn’t just stay for a meal, he ended up becoming part of their family! He married Jethro’s daughter, Zipporah, and took care of the family’s sheep. Moses and Zipporah had two sons. They lived in the land of Midian for the next forty years. You might think that that is the end of Moses’ story…but all that was about to change!

Think about it...
• Moses escaped from Egypt and came to the land of Midian. Who were some of the first people he met?
• He rescued Jethro’s daughters and even watered their flocks. Jethro was impressed with Moses so what did he do?
• Moses came to live with Jethro and his family. How did he become a member of the family?
• When Moses was 80 years old, you might think that his life was all but over. Do you know the next part of the story? [Don’t worry if you don’t…that’s tomorrow!]

Prayer: Thank you, God, for giving Moses a new home, family and job. When he left Egypt, he had nothing, but you provided everything he needed. Thank you that you will provide for us too!
