Georgian Triangle Youth Ministry (GTYM)
The GTYM is a partnership of area churches, businesses, other like-minded organizations, and community members.
GTYM High School Lunch Program
In the 2024/2025 school year an average of 250-350 students came to the church each lunch hour for free food.
We have been asked; “why not charge for the food?”
As soon as there is a fee for all items, the students that need it most will not come. No one wants to stand out as 'that student' whose family is struggling financially...there's too much stigma attached. The level of need in our community remains hidden to most of us. It is only when we remove the barriers to participation that we are able to build relationships and discover the untold stories. It is our desire to meet wholistic needs through the provision of a safe space, acceptance, opportunities to decompress, gain community service hours, to be listened to by caring adults and yes, to provide free food. The simple act of providing a homemade cookie speaks a love language the students understand.

Community Service Hours Opportunities
To graduate high school, students need to gain forty volunteer hours of community service. Here at Hope Chapel students are given a variety of opportunities.
There are three main areas where the students get to serve. One opportunity is during the GTYM lunches where they serve food and drinks to their peers. Pastor Jane has had students baking cookies for the GTYM lunch program. They also have opportunity to help sort donated clothing if food is not their thing.
Overall, students have really connected with what began as a simple gesture of being provided a cookie and a drink, and in turn have begun giving back.
