Hope Chapel was begun by Miss Sarah Madden and Sarah Klahr in 1897 as a City Mission work in downtown Collingwood.  That's right...we've been around a long time! Since then the church has undergone a number of changes--name, location and even denominational affiliations due to mergers over the years. We are again in the midst of change, but this time it is at a far more foundational level than a simple name change or expanding our building with an addition. We have reclaimed the 'mission' emphasis of our beginnings--a mission to become a center of and for community care.

We believe that we are called to love people by meeting needs--spiritual, physical, social and emotional--as we are able. As a result, we are intentionally providing help and connection to our community through a variety of means. We are determined to do 'church' differently. Our desire is to be outward focused, looking for ways to serve. Our aim is to be a centre of community care!
